READ TO ME PROJECT ANNOUNCES DOWNTOWN SALINAS OFFICE GRAND OPENING WITH A COMMUNITY FREE EVENT ON SEPTEMBER 22, 2026 5:30 PM, 272 MAIN ST.

Salinas, CA (August 18, 2026) — Read to Me Project (RtMP) is proud to announce their ribbon cutting and open house in conjunction with the Salinas Valley Chamber event for their new community-facing office on Tuesday September 22, 2026. The ribbon cutting begins at 5:30pm with a reception and open house to follow. The event will take place at the new Read to Me Project office space located at 272 Main St. in downtown Salinas. The public is welcome to attend.

The new space will act as a meeting place for program coordinators and a resource hub for family literacy. The organization looks forward to displaying its love of reading that they bring into the classroom in the heart of the community they serve.

Providing literacy coaching in the form of classroom presentations, afterschool programs, and family literacy workshops throughout Monterey County, Read to Me Project empowers children and communities to lead through literacy. Through no-cost, equitable, student-led, and family-centered programs, they build confidence and strengthen reading skills. Now expanding into up to 170 classrooms across the county, the move into this community-facing space signifies the organization’s growth and commitment to its community.

“Read to Me Project belongs to Monterey County, and we want to be deeply rooted in the communities we serve. This new home in the heart of Salinas brings us closer to our families, schools, and partners as we build Monterey County’s literacy movement together.” — Jason Little, Executive Director

Following the ribbon cutting ceremony, attendees are invited into the new space to take a tour, meet the team, and enjoy small bites. Every attendee will be entered into a complimentary raffle filled with locally provided prizes.

Hosted in partnership with the Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce, the event marks an exciting chapter for Read to Me Project. Those interested in attending can RSVP on the Salinas Chamber website.
