Patria in Salinas Closes Out Wine Hour 2025 with Morgan and Pessagno Wines, Seasonal Bruschetta, and Culinary Pairings Worth Pausing For

Press Releases

SALINAS, Calif. — The glasses are clinking a little louder at Patria this fall as the restaurant wraps up its 2025 Wine Hour with two of Monterey County’s most celebrated wineries — Morgan Winery in September and Pessagno Wines in October. This isn’t just a discount. It’s an invitation to slow down, connect, and indulge in a midweek ritual that celebrates the best of local wine and Patria’s signature cuisine.

Wine Hour happens every Wednesday from 4–5 p.m. For $10, guests enjoy a generous pour of a featured wine and two perfectly paired seasonal bruschetta bites, served in Patria’s warm, inviting dining room or al fresco on Main Street.

September – California Wine Month with Morgan Winery

Step into September with a toast to California Wine Month. Founded in 1982, Morgan Winery has built a national reputation for expressive, estate-grown wines from the Santa Lucia Highlands. During Wine Hour, guests can expect:

- Chardonnay – Crisp, with bright citrus and orchard fruit notes, kissed with a hint of vanilla from French oak.

- Pinot Noir – Silky, aromatic, and layered with red berry, spice, and an earthy backbone that speaks to the Highlands’ cool-climate elegance.

Chef José will pair each pour with seasonal bruschetta designed to enhance the wine’s natural character — think sun-ripened tomatoes, fresh herbs, creamy cheeses, and house-baked bread.

October – National Pizza and Pasta Month with Pessagno Wines

The final Wine Hour of 2025 arrives in October, and it’s a celebration for lovers of bold reds and hearty Italian fare. Pessagno Wines, renowned for their single-vineyard bottlings, will bring selections like:

- Zinfandel – Juicy blackberry and plum with a peppery spice finish.

- Merlot – Smooth and lush, brimming with dark cherry and mocha notes.

Patria will pair these wines with tastes from its famous pasta and artisan pizza menu, including:

Pastas like Skirt Steak Pappardelle with wild mushrooms in Madeira cream, Coppellini Fruta del Mare loaded with salmon, prawns, mussels, clams, and calamari, and Lobster Ravioli in a luscious vodka pink sauce.

Pizzas like the Patria Mía with caramelized pear, onion, applewood smoked bacon, and goat cheese, or the Monterey Bay with blackened shrimp, mozzarella, lemon garlic sauce, and fresh herbs.

“Our Wine Hour has always been about more than wine — it’s about connection,” said Chef José, owner and executive chef of Patria. “We’re bringing together extraordinary local wines, fresh seasonal pairings, and a reason to slow down in the middle of your week. September and October are going to be our best yet.”

Patria is located at 228 Main St. in downtown Salinas. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling (831) 424-5555 or visiting www.patriarestaurant.com.
