California Rodeo Salinas Installs New President, Officers, and Directors at Annual Stockholders Dinner

Salinas, CA – October 17, 2025 – The California Rodeo Salinas installed a new President, 3rd Vice President, Secretary, and three new Directors on Thursday, October 16th, during the annual stockholders' dinner. The Officer team is as follows, with some shifting titles from 2024: President Bob Eggers, 1st Vice President Tom Nielsen, 2nd Vice President Henry Dill, 3rd Vice President Tim Baldwin, Treasurer Patty Standridge, and Secretary Matt Jenkinson. New Directors include Rachelle Lightfoot, Danny Little, and Ryan Scarr. New Advisory Directors, stepping aside so new leadership can progress within the organization, include Randy Parola, John Sargenti, and Mark Scarr.

These directors have made unique and meaningful contributions to the California Rodeo Salinas. With more than 70 committees supporting every aspect of the organization—from ground preparation, announcing, security, banking, and community events to many others—volunteers play a vital role in bringing this historic event to life. Their work extends far beyond the arena, ensuring every detail of the Rodeo runs smoothly. Read their biographies below to learn more about their service and impact.

OFFICERS

Bob Eggers – President

Bob Eggers, a lifelong resident of Salinas, has been an active volunteer with the California Rodeo Salinas since 1995. Over the years, he has served on several committees including Security, Concessions, Communications, and developed an Emergency Response Plan, contributing his time and expertise to the success of the Rodeo. One of his proudest moments came in 2003 when he received a call from Mike Storm notifying him that he had been selected as a Director. This milestone deepened his dedication to the organization. Outside of the Rodeo, Bob works as the Human Resources Director for Service Station Computer Systems in Salinas. He and his wife, Kay, are proud parents to Mitch and Carly.

Tim Baldwin – 3rd Vice President

Tim Baldwin has been a director with the California Rodeo since 2013. His dedication to the sport began over 22 years ago when he volunteered for the Rodeo's Track Committee. He has since chaired various key committees, including the Coordination, Credential, Carnival, and Livestock   Welfare Committees. Tim's passion for rodeo was recognized when he was awarded the Professional Rodeo   Cowboys Association’s (PRCA) Committee Person of the Year in 2022. He remains actively involved in the PRCA's Livestock Welfare Committee and Media     Advisory Committee and serves on the board of directors for the Association of Rodeo Committees. Outside of his rodeo commitments, Tim is a partner at the law firm of   Noland, Hamerly, Etienne & Hoss and resides in Chualar Canyon with his partner, Brandi Thomas.

Matt Jenkinson – Secretary

Matt Jenkinson, a Salinas-born and raised fifth-generation resident, has volunteered with the California Rodeo Salinas since 1994. Over the years, he has served on numerous committees, including Ground Prep, Monster Trucks, CCMS, Facilities, and Xtreme-Bulls, holding leadership roles as Chairman of Facilities since 2023 and Xtreme-Bulls since 2022. One of his proudest moments was receiving the call to become a Director in 2016, a recognition of his long-standing dedication. Matt is the Owner and President of Jenkinson Construction, Inc. He and his wife, Jennifer, enjoy raising their two children, Hans and Hayden.  They enjoy spending time together at Lake Nacimiento, at ballfields watching Hans play sports, and on family adventures.

NEW DIRECTORS

Ryan Scarr

Born and raised in Salinas, Ryan Scarr has been involved with the California Rodeo Salinas since 2005 and officially began volunteering in 2011. Over the years, he has contributed his time to several committees, including Concessions, Banking, Arena/Catch Pens, Fall Round Up, and Country Christmas. His proudest Rodeo memory is his legendary 2002 mutton busting championship, but what he treasures most is volunteering alongside family members who have been part of the Rodeo for generations. Ryan is Vice President of Lending at American AgCredit and lives in Salinas with his wife, Lauren, as they look forward to welcoming their first child in December. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, and traveling the world with his family.

Rachelle Lightfoot

Rachelle Lightfoot began volunteering with the California Rodeo Salinas in 1998, contributing her time and leadership to Security, Front and Back Gates, Track, and Mounted Security. One of her proudest accomplishments was rebuilding the Mounted Security Team by recruiting more volunteers, ensuring the tradition of horse patrol remains a visible and vital part of the Rodeo. Born in Carmel and now living in Prunedale. Rachelle has 31 years in the law enforcement field, spending the last 20 years with Carmel PD as a detective and corporal before retirement. Since retiring, she has continued to share her expertise by teaching part-time at the MPC Police Academy and consulting for MC Kimball & Associates on crisis event survival. Rachelle and her husband, Ryan, who also volunteers with Mounted Security, share their lives with two horses and a dog, and she enjoys spending her free time with horses, reading, and traveling.

Danny Little

Danny Little began volunteering with the California Rodeo Salinas in 2019 and has served on the Announcing and Country Christmas Committees and chaired the Carnival and Fall Round Up Committees. One of his proudest contributions has been helping organize the Carnival for children with disabilities, which gives children with special needs and their families the chance to enjoy the carnival in a welcoming environment free of crowds, costs, or overwhelming stimuli. Originally from Mission, Texas, Danny lives in Corral de Tierra and works as an Attorney and is a Shareholder at Noland Hamerly Etienne & Hoss. He and his wife, Amanda, have a daughter, Scarlett, and enjoy spending time together outdoors. Danny also serves on the Board of Directors for CASA of Monterey County, is active in the Downtown Salinas Rotary Club, and, in his free time, enjoys running, biking, watching Texas Longhorns sports, and learning something new.

ADVISORY DIRECTORS

Randy Parola

Randy Parola, born and raised in Salinas, began volunteering with the California Rodeo Salinas in 1987 on the Beer Committee, serving beer and hauling ice, and quickly discovered his passion for being part of the event. He became a Director in 1995 and over the years has led a variety of areas, including Souvenirs, Concessions, the Committee BBQ, Carnival, and the Bull Xing, which he helped create after being inspired by a visit to the Denver Stock Show and Rodeo. Among his proudest achievements are receiving the Golden Saddleman Award, winning a buckle in the Director Committeeman Roping, and the countless friendships he has made through decades of service. He and his wife, Mary, share eight children between them and enjoy spending time with family. Outside of the Rodeo, Randy’s hobbies include astronomy and team roping.

Mark Scarr

Mark Scarr has been a dedicated volunteer with the California Rodeo Salinas since 1985, primarily serving on the Concessions Committee. One of his proudest moments was introducing his son, Andrew, to volunteering at the Rodeo, continuing the family’s tradition of service. Originally from Michigan, Mark has called Salinas home for many years while operating Scarr Moving, a family business that has thrived for over 60 years. He and his wife, Mary, whom he met at the Rodeo 36 years ago, have been married for 34 years and raised four children: Brian, Michelle, Andrew, and Ross. In his free time, Mark enjoys fishing, skiing, watching the Giants and 49ers, caring for his koi fish, and the occasional trip to the casino.

John Sargenti

John Sargenti has volunteered in the Timer’s Stand on the Arena Committee since 1966, or FIFTY-NINE YEARS! He has enjoyed working on this committee, helping the arena run smoothly by keeping accurate timing records. John became a Director in 1989 and continued his dedication to the Timer’s Stand each year, renewing his Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association timer’s card and taking pride in his volunteer position.  John was awarded the Gold Saddleman Award in 2023 for his time and dedication to the Rodeo.  A local rancher, John loves traveling to Reno each year and visiting his favorite restaurant, Ruby River Steakhouse, where he leaves a California Rodeo Salinas poster at his special table so other guests can enjoy it and the California Rodeo gets exposure in Reno. John truly loves the Rodeo, and we can’t thank him enough for his almost 6 decades of service.

ABOUT CALIFORNIA RODEO SALINAS

The 116th California Rodeo Salinas will take place July 16-19, 2026. As a not-for-profit organization, the California Rodeo Association is dedicated to preserving the traditions of the California Rodeo Salinas and the Western way of life while fostering community involvement and cultural heritage. The Association supports local nonprofits and community groups through its annual Rodeo and year-round operations at the Salinas Sports Complex. In 2025, these efforts generated over $856,000 for local organizations.
